Short answer
An imitation Miu Miu bag from 2024 copies one of six shapes: Wander, Arcadie, Aventure, Ivy, Penny or Beau. The originals use matelassé nappa or Madras leather and sold for about $1,050 to $4,200, with prices set by size and market. Copy quality tracks four things: leather grade, quilting depth, hardware weight and interior labeling. Price alone does not prove quality. A $120 copy and a $320 copy can leave the same workshop line.

Low grade vs high grade
- Leather. Low grade uses split grain with a plastic finish. High grade uses full grain or top grain with visible pores.
- Quilting. Matelassé rows on the originals run at even depth. Flat, shallow rows signal a stamped panel.
- Hardware. Original clasps carry weight and a satin or mirror finish. Light hollow clasps with sharp edges show up on cheap copies.
- Stitching. 8 to 10 stitches per inch on the originals, straight, no puckers at the flap.
- Logo. The 2024 lettering sits raised on the front panel. Thin, flat lettering is a copy tell.
- Lining. Originals use matched leather or logo jacquard. Fabric linings with loose threads are a downgrade.
Checks before you buy
- Ask for photos of the interior label, not just the front.
- Ask for the bag weight in grams. Originals feel dense for their size.
- Count stitches per inch on a close-up photo.
- Look at hardware edges for plating flake.
- Get the return policy in writing.
