Why the stamp is easy to copy

Buyers see the mark, assume custom status, and pay above the price of a standard bag. Resale listings repeat the claim.
What to check on a claimed special order
- Stamp placement. Real marks sit close to the logo, level with the line of text.
- Stamp depth and edge. Look for slug marks, a soft edge, and a match to the logo font.
- Color pair. Some color pairs were never offered in the same season.
- Thread. Contrast stitch must match a thread Hermes offered for that leather.
- Hardware. Permabrass, brushed gold, palladium, and rose gold exist. Check the finish and the engraving.
- Paperwork. Hermes issues no certificate for the stamp. A "special order card" is not a Hermes document.
