Short answer

There is no separate size chart for replica Balenciaga bags. Sellers copy the name and the dimensions of the authentic model, then the factory prints the tag. So a City Medium copy should measure about 38 cm wide, 24 cm tall, and 13 cm deep. A Mini City copy should measure about 22 x 16 x 8 cm.

Expect a 1 cm to 3 cm gap between the listed number and the bag in the box. Strap drop is the figure that moves most. Measure the bag in front of you, not the listing photo.

Size tiers you will see in listings

  • XS: 19 cm to 23 cm wide. Coin purse scale, single short strap.
  • Small: 24 cm to 28 cm wide. Crossbody scale.
  • Medium: 30 cm to 38 cm wide. The classic shoulder carry size.
  • Large: 38 cm wide and up. Tote or work scale.

The brand renames and resizes lines between seasons. The Hourglass line ran XS to Large across the 2022 to 2024 seasons. The Neo Classic line ran Mini to Large. Le Cagole ran XS to Medium. Exact per-season figures sit on the brand's own product pages. I do not have the full current list, so measure the bag or ask the seller for a tape photo.

How to measure a bag

  1. Lay the bag flat on a hard table. Do not hold it in the air.
  2. Width: measure the base from seam to seam at the widest point.
  3. Height: measure the base seam to the top edge of the leather body. Exclude the handle.
  4. Depth: measure the front panel to the back panel at the widest pocket area.
  5. Strap drop: hold the strap at its shortest setting, then measure from the top of the strap to the top edge of the bag. Repeat at the longest setting.
  6. Handle drop: measure the inside clearance of the top handle.

Use a tape marked in centimeters. One inch equals 2.54 cm. Convert both numbers before you compare two bags.

Numbers that flag a bad copy

  • Depth under 10 cm on a bag sold as a Medium City.
  • A fixed strap on a model that ships with an adjustable strap.
  • Weight below 700 g on a medium grained-leather bag. Authentic medium sizes land near 700 g to 900 g.
  • A base panel that tapers to a point. The City base is a rectangle.
  • Hardware measured with a kitchen scale at half the expected grams. Ask for the figure.

Where listed sizes go wrong

Most listings round to whole centimeters. Some quote the shipping box. Some quote the tallest point, which includes the handle and adds 8 cm to 12 cm. Two sellers can list the same bag 4 cm apart and both are correct under their own method. Ask the seller which points they measured. Ask for a photo of the tape against the bag.

What a tape cannot tell you

Leather thickness, edge paint depth, and stitches per centimeter. Count the stitches along 1 cm of the front seam. Ask for that number plus the bag weight. Three figures, size, weight, and stitch count, sort most listings faster than a photo set.
